Fire Destroys Outbuilding in Samut Prakan, Claims Pet Dog
A fire broke out at a grocery store residence in Phra Samut Chedi, Samut Prakan, destroying a parking shed and resulting in the death of a pet dog.
On the evening of September 16, 2026, a fire occurred at a two-story residence and grocery store located in the Nai Khlong Bang Pla Kot sub-district of Phra Samut Chedi, Samut Prakan. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, the blaze originated in a rear extension used as a parking shed and a kennel area.
Local residents and emergency responders, including six fire trucks from various municipal departments, arrived at the scene around 5:40 PM. While neighbors attempted to contain the flames with water buckets and hoses, it took firefighters approximately 20 minutes to fully extinguish the fire. Despite these efforts, the structure was destroyed, along with one motorcycle. Tragically, a seven-year-old male Thai dog named 'Aum' perished in the fire.
For residents and travelers in the area, this incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety in residential structures, particularly those with attached extensions or mixed-use areas. While the immediate threat was neutralized, the official cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Phra Samut Chedi Police Station. Authorities have not yet released findings regarding potential electrical faults or other ignition sources.
