On September 16, 2026, Khaosod Online reported that police in Udon Thani are investigating the death of a 24-year-old woman, identified as Pim, who was found deceased in her dormitory room in Ban Lueam sub-district. The victim was discovered in a state of undress with an electrical cord wrapped around her neck.
Police Colonel Pattanawong Chanphon, Superintendent of Mueang Udon Thani Police Station, stated that initial evidence, including the nature of the cord and signs of potential dragging, suggests the incident was likely not a suicide. Forensic teams have collected DNA samples from the victim’s close friends and neighboring residents as part of the ongoing investigation. Additionally, a towel found at the scene and other physical evidence have been sent for laboratory analysis to assist in identifying potential suspects.
