Krungthai Bank Selected to Manage Thailand's Unified Transit Ticketing System

The Thai Ministry of Transport has appointed Krungthai Bank to oversee the central revenue management system for the nation's unified electric train ticketing project.

According to a report by Prachachat Business on September 16, 2026, the Thai Ministry of Transport has officially selected Krungthai Bank to serve as the central revenue management hub for the country’s upcoming unified electric train ticketing system. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, confirmed that the bank will manage the Central Clearing House (CCH) to facilitate seamless travel across different rail networks.

This initiative is designed to cap maximum fares at 45 baht, a move intended to reduce the cost of living for commuters and enhance the overall convenience of public transportation in Bangkok and its surrounding areas. By integrating various transit lines under a single payment framework, the government aims to simplify the passenger experience.

For residents and travelers, this development represents a significant step toward a more efficient and affordable transit experience. However, several details remain to be confirmed, including the specific timeline for the full implementation of the unified system and the technical integration process across existing private and state-run rail operators. Further announcements from the Ministry of Transport are expected as the project moves toward the operational phase.
