According to a report by Thai Post on September 16, 2026, former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra has filed a lawsuit with the Central Tax Court. The legal action seeks to block the Revenue Department from seizing assets in connection with a 15 billion baht tax claim linked to the sale of Shin Corp shares.
Thaksin’s legal representative, Winyat Chatmontri, argues that the seizure attempt is redundant. He contends that the 46 billion baht generated from the original Shin Corp share sale was already confiscated by the state, suggesting that the Revenue Department should seek any further claims from the Ministry of Finance rather than the former Prime Minister. The Central Tax Court has scheduled a hearing to consider a temporary injunction on the seizure for October 7, 2026.
