MP Criticizes Election Commission Report for Inconsistencies
Prachachat Party MP Tawee Sodsong has called for the Election Commission of Thailand to revise its annual reports, citing data discrepancies and potential conflicts of interest.
During a House of Representatives session on September 16, 2026, Prachachat Party list MP Pol. Col. Tawee Sodsong formally requested that the Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) withdraw and rewrite its annual performance reports for the 2024 and 2025 fiscal years. Presided over by Second Deputy House Speaker Lertsak Pattanachaikul, the session focused on reviewing these official documents.
Pol. Col. Tawee argued that the reports contain inconsistent data, noting that the 2024 report was printed in September 2025, while the 2025 report was finalized in August 2026. Furthermore, he alleged that five out of the seven commissioners may have conflicts of interest, as they were appointed by the current Senate. He criticized the commission for failing to adhere to legal standards regarding their investigative and prosecutorial duties.
