Thai AirAsia to Discontinue Don Mueang-Seoul Route
Thai AirAsia has announced the permanent suspension of its direct flights between Bangkok (Don Mueang) and Seoul (Incheon), effective October 25, 2026.
According to Khaosod Online Thailand, Thai AirAsia will officially cease operations on its direct route connecting Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport and Seoul’s Incheon Airport starting October 25, 2026. This decision marks the end of a service that has been in operation for over 12 years. The airline attributed the move to a decline in the number of Thai tourists traveling to South Korea.
For travelers and residents who have already booked flights for dates on or after October 25, the airline has initiated a notification process regarding cancellations. To mitigate the impact on passengers, Thai AirAsia has provided four compensation options: rescheduling flights free of charge before October 24, 2026; receiving a full refund; retaining the ticket value as a credit shell for future travel; or rerouting via AirAsia Malaysia through the Don Mueang-Kuala Lumpur-Seoul connection.
Affected passengers are encouraged to contact the airline immediately to secure their preferred compensation option and avoid losing their rights. Inquiries can be directed to the airline’s support line at 02-029-7864, available daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. While the airline has outlined these immediate remedies, passengers should confirm the specific terms and conditions of their rebooking or refund requests directly with the carrier to ensure their travel plans are adequately addressed.
