MBK Subsidiary Acquires 20.03% Stake in Vichaiyut Hospital

PRG, a subsidiary of MBK, has become a major shareholder in Vichaiyut Hospital following a significant block trade acquisition.

According to a report by Prachachat Business on September 16, 2026, Pathum Rice Mill and Granary Public Company Limited (PRG), a subsidiary of the MBK Group, has acquired a 20.03% stake in Vichaiyut Hospital (VIH). The transaction involved the purchase of 125.66 million shares through a big-lot trade, following the decision by BBTV Equity to divest its entire holding in the hospital.

For residents and expatriates in Thailand, this shift in shareholding structure is a notable development within the private healthcare sector. Vichaiyut Hospital has stated that this change in ownership will not impact the hospital's current management structure or its ongoing business operations. Furthermore, the company clarified that the acquisition does not currently trigger a mandatory tender offer requirement.

While the hospital maintains that day-to-day services remain unaffected, stakeholders and patients may monitor how this new partnership influences the hospital's long-term strategic direction. As of now, there are no indications of changes to medical services or operational policies. Further developments regarding the integration of PRG into the hospital's governance remain to be seen.
