According to a report by Khaosod Online, the 1972 commemorative coin of the late Luang Pho In Intasaro, former abbot of Wat Yan Sue in Trang, remains a highly sought-after item among collectors. Although the monk had passed away before the coin was minted, it is prized because it was consecrated by several renowned masters from the Khao O lineage. The coin, which features a full-body image of the monk in a meditation pose, was originally created for attendees of his funeral.
For residents and visitors interested in Thai cultural heritage, these amulets represent a significant intersection of local history and spiritual tradition. Understanding the provenance of such items—specifically the distinction between those consecrated by the subject and those blessed by other masters—is essential for collectors.
Separately, the report notes that Luang Pu Samli Suthachitto of Wat Tham Khuha Wari in Loei province has initiated a project to build the 'Chedi Chanthasaronuson.' As the project currently faces a significant funding shortfall, the temple has received permission to issue a first-edition commemorative coin featuring the likeness of Luang Pu Samli to raise necessary capital. While the aesthetic details of this new coin have been shared, the total amount required for the completion of the chedi remains to be confirmed.
