Krungthai Bank Announces Digital Bond Offering for GULF
Krungthai Bank is set to launch digital bonds for Gulf Energy Development on October 19, offering interest rates between 2.70% and 2.95%.
According to Khaosod Online, Krungthai Bank has announced the upcoming issuance of 'GULF Digital Bonds' via the Paotang mobile application. Starting October 19, investors will be able to purchase these unsecured, unsubordinated bonds, which carry an AA-/Stable credit rating from TRIS Rating.
Rawin Boonyanusasna, head of the bank's Global Markets Group, stated that the initiative aims to increase investment accessibility for the public. The bonds are backed by Gulf Energy Development’s strong position in the Thai power generation sector, supported by long-term power purchase agreements that provide predictable cash flow. The offering is designed to be accessible, with a minimum investment threshold of 1,000 Thai Baht.
For residents and expatriates in Thailand, this development highlights the ongoing digitalization of the local capital market, making financial instruments more accessible through mobile platforms. While the bank anticipates strong demand based on previous digital bond offerings, potential investors should note that this is a financial product subject to market conditions. As of now, the specific subscription process details beyond the Paotang app requirement remain to be fully detailed by the bank. Interested parties should monitor official Krungthai Bank channels for further updates regarding the subscription window and final interest rate determination within the stated range.
