Siriraj Hospital has introduced cnsKRAFT, a new diagnostic tool designed to accelerate and improve the precision of brain and central nervous system tumor classification.
The Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital at Mahidol University has officially launched 'cnsKRAFT,' an innovative diagnostic platform aimed at enhancing the treatment planning process for patients with brain tumors and central nervous system (CNS) malignancies. According to a report by Khaosod Online, the technology was developed in collaboration with Affinome Co., Ltd., a medical device manufacturer operating under ISO 13485 quality standards.
Dr. Thidathip Wongsurawat, head of the Medical Bioinformatics Unit at the Siriraj Genomics Center, explained that cnsKRAFT utilizes Nanopore sequencing technology. This approach allows for multi-dimensional molecular data analysis from a single test, covering gene mutations and chromosomal copy number variations. By rapidly and accurately classifying specific tumor types, the tool is intended to assist medical professionals in tailoring treatment strategies to individual patient needs.
