Police Investigate Suspicious Death of Young Woman in Udon Thani
Authorities in Udon Thani are treating the death of a 24-year-old woman found in her rental room as a homicide.
On September 16, 2026, Khaosod Online reported that police in Udon Thani are investigating the death of a 24-year-old woman, identified as Ms. Pim, who was discovered deceased in her rental room in Ban Lueam sub-district on the evening of September 15. The victim, a convenience store worker originally from Nong Khai, was found face down and unclothed, with an electrical cord discovered near her neck.
Police Colonel Pattanawong Chanphon, Superintendent of Mueang Udon Thani Police Station, confirmed that investigators and forensic teams have returned to the scene to collect additional DNA evidence. This material will be compared against samples taken from the victim’s body and personal belongings to identify potential suspects. While initial reviews of CCTV footage from the dormitory have not shown suspicious outsiders entering or exiting during the relevant timeframe, authorities are continuing to analyze the footage in detail.
Investigators have stated they believe the death was a homicide rather than a suicide. Ten witnesses have already been interviewed as part of the ongoing inquiry.
