New 'Treeburiratthaya' Transport Network Proposed to Link Western Thailand

Minister of Labour Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn recently visited Ratchaburi province to address local infrastructure concerns. During his visit, he instructed the Department of Highways (DOH) and the Department of Rural Roads (DRR) to prioritize the repair and improvement of existing roads and bridges in the area.

Beyond immediate repairs, the Minister is promoting the development of a new transport network project titled "Treeburiratthaya." This initiative aims to create a strategic link between the provinces of Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, and Phetchaburi. The project is envisioned as a gateway to Southern Thailand, designed to support the growing tourism sector in the western region by improving connectivity and accessibility between these three provinces.

For residents and travelers, this development could eventually lead to smoother transit and reduced travel times across the western provinces, potentially boosting local tourism and economic activity. However, the project is currently in the proposal and planning stage. Specific timelines for construction, budget allocations, and the exact routes of the proposed network remain to be confirmed by the relevant transport authorities. As of now, the focus remains on the immediate directive to address current road and bridge maintenance issues in Ratchaburi.
