A 35-year-old man has been taken into custody in Udon Thani after allegedly stabbing a mother while she was caring for her infant.

The suspect, who reportedly resides across from the victim, allegedly entered a home in Ban Lao Luang, Wang Thong sub-district, while a mother was rocking her four-month-old daughter in a cradle. The suspect is accused of stabbing the woman in the abdomen with a sharp knife, resulting in severe injuries that required hospitalization. As of September 15, 2026, the victim remains in critical condition at Somdej Phra Yupharat Ban Dung Hospital.
Local police apprehended the suspect in a rubber plantation and have reportedly filed three serious criminal charges against him.
