Authorities Investigate Rayong’s 'Hong Cave' Amid Local Folklore
Officials from multiple agencies have conducted a detailed inspection of Hong Cave in Rayong following reports of mysterious sounds and increased public interest.
On September 15, 2026, a team of over 20 officials, including representatives from the Department of Mineral Resources, the Rayong Provincial Culture Office, and the Fine Arts Department, conducted a formal inspection of 'Hong Cave' in Krachet, Rayong. The site has recently gained attention due to local legends claiming that bell chimes and traditional Thai music can be heard emanating from within the cave.
This visit follows an initial survey by the Cultural Office and aims to provide a more thorough assessment of the site. The cave has become a focal point for both history enthusiasts and local residents, some of whom have gathered at the cave entrance to offer prayers and seek lottery numbers, citing recent experiences with auspicious figures. Village headman Watchara Sawaengswat led the inspection team through the area.
For travelers and residents, the site currently serves as a point of cultural curiosity.
