Thai Government Mandates Digital Data Sharing to Eliminate Paperwork

According to Prachachat Business, the Thai government is advancing its initiative to streamline administrative procedures by mandating that 163 state agencies connect to the Government Data Exchange (GDX) platform. Deputy Government Spokesperson Lalida Periwattana announced that this integration aims to replace the requirement for citizens to submit physical photocopies of documents with direct data sharing between government departments.

This directive covers 58 specific administrative items and is scheduled to be fully implemented within one year. For residents and long-term visitors, this shift is intended to reduce the bureaucratic burden when interacting with state services, potentially leading to faster processing times and less reliance on physical paperwork.

While the government has set a clear timeline for this digital transition, the practical impact on daily administrative tasks remains to be confirmed as agencies work to complete the technical integration.
