Cherngtalay Police Station’s Beloved Mascot 'Long Long' Returns to Duty
A popular cat mascot at a Phuket police station has been safely reunited with officers after a brief disappearance.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, the Cherngtalay Police Station in Thalang, Phuket, has successfully recovered 'Long Long,' a cat that serves as the station's unofficial mascot. The feline had previously gone missing, prompting a widespread search effort supported by social media users and local residents.
The cat was located after a tip-off from a local plant shop owner near the Bang Jo intersection, who spotted the animal in the area. Officers retrieved Long Long and returned the cat to the station. In a lighthearted update on their official Facebook page, the police joked that because the cat had been absent for fewer than 15 days, it avoided any disciplinary action and remains officially 'on duty.'
For residents and travelers in the area, this story highlights the community-focused atmosphere of the local station. The police have expressed their gratitude to the public for their assistance in the search. Visitors are once again welcome to stop by the station to see Long Long, who has resumed its role of greeting those visiting the facility.
