Residents in the Choeng Noen sub-district of Rayong province have recently taken notice of 65-year-old Suaree Nischker, a local social worker and volunteer, who has not cut her hair for nearly a decade. According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand on September 14, 2026, her hair now measures nearly 1.5 meters in length.
Suaree attributes her decision to grow her hair to personal spiritual beliefs regarding fortune and protection. She explained that she began this practice following several near-death experiences, most notably a severe car accident at age 29 that required over 300 stitches. She maintains that her decision is rooted in these personal experiences rather than cosmetic preference.
