According to a report by Matichon Online, Deputy Finance Minister Julapun Amornvivat has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Sri Lankan authorities. This agreement aims to address significant labor shortages currently affecting Thailand’s construction and agricultural sectors.
Under the terms of this new partnership, Thailand plans to begin importing the first group of workers from Sri Lanka by January 2027. The initiative is expected to bring in approximately 10,000 laborers to fill critical gaps in the domestic workforce.
