NT and USTDA Explore New Subsea Cable Project Linking Thailand and the U.S.

According to a report by Prachachat Business, National Telecom (NT) and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) have initiated a study to develop a new subsea cable system connecting Thailand and the United States. Colonel Sanphachai Huvanandana, President of NT, met with Thomas R. Hardy, Acting Director of the USTDA, to discuss the project, which is intended to traverse five countries.
This initiative is designed to replace existing subsea cable infrastructure that is nearing the end of its operational lifespan. For residents and travelers in Thailand, this project is significant as it aims to ensure the long-term stability and capacity of international internet connectivity, which is essential for digital services, communication, and business operations within the country.
While the study is currently underway, several details remain to be confirmed.
