Security Guard Arrested After Assaulting Food Delivery Rider in Bangkok

According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand on September 14, 2026, a security guard in a Bangkok housing estate was involved in a violent altercation with a female food delivery rider. The incident, which occurred in the Bang Chan police jurisdiction, involved the guard—reportedly intoxicated—punching the rider in the presence of her 10-year-old child and subsequently threatening her with a firearm.
National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Kitrat Phanphet has ordered an investigation into the guard’s employment status and the compliance of his security firm. Authorities confirmed that while the security company holds a valid business license, the individual, identified as Mr. Somsak, did not possess the mandatory security guard license required by law. Under the Security Business Act, this violation carries a potential penalty of up to three months in prison and a fine of up to 5,000 baht. The employer also faces potential legal consequences for deploying an unlicensed individual.
