Police Hunt Suspect Following 3.5 Million Baht Gold Heist in Pathum Thani
Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage to identify a suspect who stole 52 baht-weight of gold from a jewelry store in Sam Khok district.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, police are actively investigating a gold robbery that occurred on the afternoon of September 13, 2026. A lone suspect targeted the Bangkok Golds Yaowarat branch in the Sam Khok district of Pathum Thani province, successfully escaping with 52 baht-weight of gold ornaments valued at approximately 3.5 million baht. The entire incident reportedly lasted only two minutes.
On September 14, senior police officials, including Deputy Commissioner of Provincial Police Region 1, Major General Wichit Bunchinwutikul, and the Pathum Thani Provincial Police Commander, held a meeting at the Sam Khok Police Station to coordinate the investigation. Investigators are currently analyzing CCTV footage to track the perpetrator's movements.
Authorities have released a notable physical characteristic to assist the public in identifying the suspect: the individual reportedly has visible skin pigmentation (melasma) on both sides of their face. The suspect was observed waiting for an opportune moment to strike, specifically timing the robbery during a period of high delivery traffic at the store.
For residents and visitors in the area, this incident highlights a significant security event. While police are working to apprehend the suspect, the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the individual’s identity or whereabouts to contact the local police. No arrests have been confirmed at this time.
