Restaurant Owner Delivers Free Meal to Disabled Fan After Failed Coupon Hunt
A Kamphaeng Phet restaurant owner surprised a disabled man with a free meal after his sister traveled 39 kilometers unsuccessfully searching for a promotional coupon.
In celebration of its 20th anniversary, 'Leng Mookata Saingam' in Kamphaeng Phet province launched a promotional campaign, hiding 300 coupons worth 500 baht each throughout the area. The event, which has gained significant local attention and over 3 million views on social media, involves residents searching for these vouchers to enjoy a free meal.
According to Khaosod Online, the campaign took a heartwarming turn when 27-year-old Jutharat Naktawee attempted to secure a coupon for her disabled brother, who expressed a strong desire to eat Mookata (Thai barbecue). Despite having only 100 baht to her name, Jutharat spent her limited funds on fuel to travel 39 kilometers in search of a coupon. Upon learning of her unsuccessful efforts and the family's situation, the restaurant owner decided to personally deliver a full Mookata meal to their home.
For residents and travelers, this story highlights the strong community spirit often found in local Thai businesses. While the restaurant has distributed approximately 120 of the 300 available coupons, the event continues to draw crowds. It remains to be confirmed how much longer the promotional hunt will continue or if the restaurant plans further outreach efforts for those unable to participate in the physical search.
