Rangsit Babies' Home Hosts Volunteer Initiative for Child Welfare

On September 5, 2026, the Rangsit Babies' Home in Pathum Thani hosted an event titled 'Opening Rangsit Babies' Home: A Learning Source for Volunteer Work and 4-Dimensional Well-being.' This initiative was organized through a partnership between the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth), the Department of Children and Youth (DCY) under the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, and the Thai Health Foundation.
According to Khaosod Online, the event aimed to address staffing limitations within state-run facilities. Apinya Chomphumas, Director-General of the DCY, noted that while there are 31 government-run and over 700 private child welfare facilities in Thailand, personnel shortages often hinder the ability to provide close, individualized care for children who have been separated from their families due to poverty, drug-related issues, or parental instability.
