Thai Media Fund Proposes National Platform Regulation Amid Influencer Growth

At a recent 'Ratchadamnoen Forum' titled 'From Views to Responsibility,' the Thai Media Fund manager advocated for new legislation to regulate digital platforms. The proposal suggests the creation of a 'National Platform' to better manage content, ensure tax collection, and improve oversight of digital media.
According to Thai Post, the discussion addressed the rapid expansion of the creator economy, which now includes approximately 9 million Thai creators generating 40 billion baht in revenue. The Content Creator Association is currently developing guidelines to professionalize the industry. However, the forum also highlighted significant risks. Popular influencer 'Benz' revealed that some creators are being approached by agencies to produce 'dark' or unethical content, with legal support offered as an incentive for those who face lawsuits.

The Consumer Council noted that consumers frequently encounter fraudulent goods on these platforms.
