Pickup Truck Crashes into Phitsanulok Gold Shop After Gear Error
A 30-year-old driver accidentally crashed his pickup truck into a gold shop in Phitsanulok after starting the engine while the vehicle was still in gear.
On September 13, 2026, a traffic incident occurred on Phra Ong Dam Road in Phitsanulok province when a black Toyota pickup truck collided with the storefront of the Chong Heng gold shop. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, the 30-year-old driver had parked his vehicle nearby to eat. Upon returning to the truck, he started the engine without realizing the transmission was still engaged in first gear, causing the vehicle to lurch forward into the shop.
Local police, led by Pol. Capt. Wutthichai Chamklom, arrived at the scene to investigate. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, though the shop sustained significant property damage. The driver remained at the scene to coordinate with his insurance provider regarding the damages.
