Additionally, the lower Central region—including Bangkok and its surrounding provinces—and the western coast of the South are experiencing heavy rain.
This weather pattern is attributed to a high-pressure system covering upper Thailand, which has caused a monsoon trough to extend across the upper South, the upper Gulf of Thailand, and the East, connecting to a low-pressure area near the coast of central Vietnam. Simultaneously, a moderate southwest monsoon continues to affect the lower Andaman Sea and the lower Gulf of Thailand.
For travelers and residents, the primary concern is the risk of flash floods and forest runoff, particularly in low-lying areas and regions near hillsides. Authorities advise avoiding travel through routes prone to recurring flooding. Furthermore, a strong low-pressure system near the Vietnamese coast is expected to intensify and move toward northern Vietnam between September 13 and 14. Residents are urged to monitor official weather updates continuously.
