Thailand Open Cycling Championship Concludes in Phichit
The final round of the 2026 Thailand Open cycling tournament has concluded at Bueng Si Fai, highlighting the development of new talent for national teams.
According to Khaosod Online, the fourth and final round of the 2026 Thailand Open cycling championship took place from September 12–13 at the Saranjit Mongkolsuk cycling track in Phichit province. The event, which featured mountain bike and road cycling competitions, was held under the royal patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
General Decha Hemkrasri, president of the Cycling Association of Thailand, stated that the tournament successfully met its strategic goals by providing a platform for youth and junior athletes to showcase their skills. High-performing cyclists from this event are being considered for selection to the national team for upcoming international competitions, including the Asian Youth Games and the Youth Olympic Games. Additionally, master-class athletes were evaluated for the Asian Championships.
For residents and visitors, the event served as a significant local economic driver. Singharat Wongsa-ngiam, Deputy Chief of the Phichit Provincial Administrative Organization, noted that the competition attracted cyclists and spectators from across the country, boosting local tourism. The event garnered over 30,000 views via live streams on Facebook and YouTube. While the tournament has concluded, the official list of athletes selected for the national team following this final round remains to be confirmed by the association.
