According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, Indonesian search and rescue authorities are currently conducting an urgent operation to locate 140 missing individuals following an incident involving the passenger ship 'Virgo Transport 8'. The vessel, which was carrying a total of 243 passengers and crew, lost contact while navigating the Java Sea on Sunday morning amidst severe weather conditions.

Reports indicate that 103 people have been successfully evacuated, with some being transported to a port in East Java. Tragically, one of the evacuated individuals was later confirmed deceased. The ship had departed from Surabaya, East Java, on Saturday, September 12, and was en route to Banjarmasin in South Kalimantan when the communication failure occurred.
