On September 12, 2026, a significant fire broke out at a two-story traditional Thai-style house in Moo 2, Yai Phaeng sub-district, Bang Khonthi district, Samut Songkhram province. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, local authorities and emergency responders, including six fire trucks from neighboring municipalities and the Sapphrachen Samut Songkhram Foundation, were dispatched to the scene to combat the blaze.
Despite heavy rainfall at the time, the fire spread rapidly due to the wooden structure of the house. Firefighters required approximately one hour to bring the flames under control, but the residence was completely destroyed. The homeowner, 48-year-old Mr. Khosit, reported that he had gone to sleep earlier than usual that evening and was only alerted to the fire by his mother after the flames had already spread significantly.

While the immediate emergency has been resolved, the exact cause of the fire remains under investigation by local police.
