During the confrontation, a territorial defense volunteer (Or Sor) named Pavarit, 47, attempted to intervene and neutralize the threat. While firing his 9mm handgun in self-defense, a bullet struck 52-year-old village headman Wasana Srikason in the chest. The village headman was critically injured during the exchange.
