Thailand Announces Temporary Diesel Price Reduction at Refineries
The Energy Policy Administration Committee has mandated a 2.40 baht per liter reduction in diesel prices at refineries from September 16 to October 31, 2026.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, the Royal Thai Government Gazette has published an official announcement from the Energy Policy Administration Committee (EPPO) regarding a temporary adjustment to diesel fuel pricing. Effective from September 16, 2026, through October 31, 2026, the price of high-speed diesel at refineries will be reduced by 2.40 baht per liter.
This decision, finalized during the committee's meeting on September 3, 2026, is a response to ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. The committee noted that these conflicts continue to disrupt global crude and refined oil supplies, leading to significant price volatility within Thailand. The measure is intended to mitigate potential fuel shortages and stabilize the domestic market.
