According to a report by Prachachat Business, Chiang Mai International Airport is preparing for a significant influx of travelers during the upcoming high season. Airport Director Karant Thanakuljeerapat announced that five airlines have launched six new direct flight routes connecting Chiang Mai to destinations in the Middle East, China, and South Korea.
This expansion of air connectivity is a strategic move to bolster tourism in the northern region. Airport authorities project that these additional services will help push the total annual passenger volume to 9.97 million by the end of 2026.
