Two DSI Officials Arrested in Local Government Exam Fraud Case
Two Department of Special Investigation (DSI) officials have been arrested and granted bail following allegations of involvement in a scheme to influence local government recruitment exams.
According to a report by Khaosod Online on September 12, 2026, two officials from Thailand’s Department of Special Investigation (DSI) were arrested following an investigation into a recruitment fraud scheme. The case originated from the arrest of a former Pheu Thai Party MP candidate, who allegedly claimed he could guarantee success in local government civil service examinations in exchange for bribes.
Subsequent investigations linked the scheme to two DSI staff members: a 49-year-old special case officer from the Bureau of Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime, and a 46-year-old special case investigator. Both were apprehended under warrants issued by the Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases Region 3. They face charges under Section 143 of the Criminal Code and the Organic Act on Anti-Corruption, specifically for soliciting or accepting benefits to influence official duties through dishonest means.
