A collision between a pickup truck and a 22-wheel trailer at a red light in Chanthaburi has resulted in one fatality and one injury.
On the morning of September 11, 2026, a serious traffic accident occurred at the Ban Khlung intersection in the Khlung District of Chanthaburi province. According to reports from Khaosod Online, a white Toyota Revo pickup truck collided with the rear of a 22-wheel trailer that was stopped at a red light.
Emergency responders from the Khlung Hospital and local rescue foundations arrived at the scene to find the pickup truck severely damaged, with its roof collapsed. One individual, identified as 21-year-old Mr. Thitipol, sustained a deformed left leg and was transported to Khlung Hospital for treatment. Tragically, the driver, identified as Mr. Sumeth, was found deceased at the scene.
Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Preliminary assessments by police suggest that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel, though this remains to be officially confirmed as the investigation continues.
