Police Arrest Armed Man Following Drug-Related Disturbance in Phatthalung

On September 11, 2026, police in Phatthalung province, Thailand, arrested a 30-year-old man identified as Nontachai following reports of public disturbance in the Ang Thong sub-district of Si Nakharin. According to Khaosod Online, local residents had expressed significant concern due to the suspect's history of drug use, destruction of property, and discharging firearms at his home.
When officers arrived at the scene, they encountered the suspect walking near his residence carrying a 12-inch knife. Although he initially resisted and acted aggressively, authorities successfully detained him. Following a search of the premises, which was conducted in the presence of relatives, police discovered a homemade shotgun and two spent shell casings. The suspect reportedly confessed to purchasing the firearm from a friend for 1,000 baht.
