According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, police have arrested a man suspected of robbing a bank near the Talaad Thai market in Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani. The suspect, who allegedly stole 1.5 million baht, was apprehended following an investigation into the incident.
Details from the report indicate that the suspect entered the bank shortly before closing time, wearing a balaclava, a red shirt, and gloves. He reportedly secured the entrance with a metal bar before using a handgun to threaten five bank employees and one auditor. The perpetrator initially seized over 500,000 baht from the counter before forcing staff to open the safe, where he obtained an additional 1 million baht. He then fled the scene in a sedan with a Songkhla license plate.
Authorities discovered that the suspect had a prior criminal record, having served time for a cash-in-transit vehicle robbery 14 years ago.
