Thailand’s 400 Billion Baht Loan Committee Prepares for Solar Rooftop and Tourism Projects
The Ministry of Finance is awaiting formal proposals for solar rooftop and tourism stimulus projects to be reviewed by the 400 billion baht loan screening committee.
According to Khaosod Online, Lavaron Sangsnit, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and chairman of the loan screening committee, announced that the committee is preparing to review new projects under the 400 billion baht emergency loan decree.
Currently, the committee is awaiting the formal submission of a solar rooftop project from the Ministry of Interior. Lavaron noted that the proposal is currently being processed for signature by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul. The committee expects to hold a meeting regarding this project as early as next week.
Additionally, the 'Thai Tiew Thai Plus' tourism stimulus project is also pending review. This initiative, which seeks to utilize the first 200 billion baht of the loan fund to support citizens and business operators, is currently being finalized by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. Once the Ministry of Tourism and Sports submits the finalized details, the committee is prepared to evaluate the proposal immediately.
For residents and travelers, these developments are significant as they signal potential government-backed initiatives aimed at energy efficiency and tourism sector recovery. However, the exact timeline for implementation remains subject to the administrative processes of the respective ministries.
