Five-Meter Python Discovered in Uthai Thani Home Ceiling
A homeowner in Uthai Thani discovered a massive 4.5-meter python hiding in her ceiling after hearing strange noises for several days.
On September 11, 2026, rescue workers in Uthai Thani province were called to a residence in Sakae Krang sub-district after the homeowner, Ms. Kantima, reported hearing persistent, unusual sounds coming from her ceiling. According to Khaosod Online, the homeowner had been hearing these noises for several days and suspected something was amiss.
Upon arriving at the two-story home, rescue personnel dismantled a section of the ceiling to investigate. They discovered a large python coiled inside, which had recently consumed several birds kept by the owner. The rescue team successfully extracted the snake, which measured 4.5 meters in length and weighed approximately 40 kilograms. The python was subsequently released back into the wild.
For residents and travelers in Thailand, this incident serves as a reminder of the importance of home maintenance, particularly regarding ceiling and roof spaces, which can occasionally become habitats for wildlife.
