Two DSI Officials Detained in Local Government Recruitment Bribery Probe
Thai police have arrested two Department of Special Investigation (DSI) officials linked to a bribery scheme involving local government job placements.
On September 11, 2026, the Anti-Corruption Division (ACD) of the Thai police expanded its investigation into a bribery case involving Prawit, also known as 'Phu Yai Heng,' a former Pheu Thai Party MP candidate. According to Khaosod Online, Prawit was previously arrested for allegedly soliciting money by promising to secure positions for individuals in local government civil service exams.
Following allegations that state officials were involved in this scheme, Police Major General Jaroonkiat Pankaew, Deputy Commissioner of the Central Investigation Bureau, led operations to apprehend two DSI officials. One suspect was detained in Si Racha, Chonburi, while the second was taken into custody in Bangkok. Both individuals are currently being interrogated at the ACD headquarters in Bangkok as authorities gather evidence to formally press charges.
