Central Retail Expands Vietnam Footprint with Multi-Billion Baht Investment

Central Retail Corporation (CRC) has announced plans to further expand its retail network in Vietnam, building on a 15-year investment history.

According to Khaosod Online, Central Retail Corporation (CRC) is deepening its commitment to the Vietnamese market, where it has already invested over 49 billion baht across 300 locations in 26 provinces. CEO Suthisarn Chirathivat stated that the company views Vietnam as a strategic market, citing the country's robust economic growth, which saw an 8.18% GDP increase during the first half of 2026.

Looking ahead to 2028, CRC has outlined a growth strategy to capture rising consumer purchasing power. The company plans to open 10 to 12 additional 'GO! Hypermarket' branches and 23 to 25 'mini go! Supermarket' locations. This expansion targets both major urban centers and secondary cities to capitalize on rapid urbanization.

For residents and travelers in Vietnam, this expansion suggests a broader availability of retail services and goods under the Central Retail umbrella. While the company has confirmed its strategic intent and investment figures, the specific locations for the new branches and the exact timeline for each opening remain to be finalized. The continued growth of CRC in the region reflects a broader trend of Thai corporate investment in Southeast Asian retail sectors.
