Former Teacher Convicted of Child Abuse Dies in Bangkok Remand Prison

According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, a former teacher, identified as Mr. Pichai, has passed away while incarcerated at the Bangkok Remand Prison. The defendant had been serving a cumulative sentence of 15 years, 36 months, and 15 days following convictions across three separate cases involving the sexual abuse of minors.

On September 11, 2026, the Criminal Court on Ratchadaphisek Road had scheduled a hearing for the Appeal Court’s verdict regarding case number Or. 113/2568. The charges against the defendant included the abduction of children under 15 for indecent purposes, sexual assault of minors, and the solicitation of children to engage in inappropriate behavior. The defendant’s legal troubles gained public attention in May 2024, when he was arrested following an investigation by the Pavena Hongsakula Foundation for Children and Women and the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division. That investigation stemmed from a crackdown on a resort in Khon Kaen province involved in the sexual exploitation of minors.
