According to a report by Prachachat Business, Transport Minister Suriya Juangroongruangkit has directed the Royal Irrigation Department to maintain strict surveillance of water levels and weather conditions nationwide. This directive follows forecasts of heavy to very heavy rainfall affecting multiple regions, particularly in the North and Northeast, with precipitation expected to increase in the Central region, the East, Bangkok and its vicinity, and the South between September 10 and 13, 2026.
For residents and travelers, this alert is significant as it highlights potential risks of flash floods and water overflow in low-lying areas. While the Chao Phraya River currently retains the capacity to manage water flow, the situation remains dynamic. Authorities are closely monitoring 496 large and medium-sized reservoirs, which currently hold a combined total of 52,993 million cubic meters of water.
