US Imposes New Tariffs on Drones and Parts: Thai Exporters Advised to Prepare
The Thai Department of Foreign Trade has issued a warning to exporters regarding new US tariffs on drones and components, which could impact supply chains and costs.
According to a report by Prachachat Business, the Thai Department of Foreign Trade has alerted local exporters to prepare for new US trade measures under Section 232. As of September 3, 2026, the United States has begun imposing import tariffs ranging from 25% to 100% on unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) and their associated components.
Furthermore, additional tariffs on specific parts are scheduled to take effect on February 9, 2027. The Department noted that Thailand is not currently among the countries granted exemptions from these measures. Consequently, Thai exporters are being urged to urgently verify their product tariff codes and adjust their cost structures to mitigate potential financial impacts.
