According to a report from Khaosod Online Thailand, the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) Region 4 Forward Command confirmed a deadly clash in the Tawe mountain range. The incident occurred on September 9, 2026, at approximately 12:30 PM, when a joint task force comprising military, police, and special operations units conducted a mission to locate suspected insurgents in the mountainous forest area.
During the operation, two individuals identified as insurgents were killed. Authorities reported that the deceased were subject to a combined total of nine outstanding arrest warrants. Following the engagement, security forces seized two firearms—an M16 and an AK-104—along with two hand grenades.
