Fatal Fire Destroys Home and Tire Shop in Rayong
A tragic fire in Map Ta Phut, Rayong, claimed the lives of an elderly couple on September 11, 2026.
On the night of September 11, 2026, a severe fire broke out at a residential property and attached tire shop located along Sukhumvit Road in Map Ta Phut, Rayong. According to reports from Khaosod Online Thailand, local authorities, including the Map Ta Phut Police Station, responded to the scene with six fire trucks. It took emergency responders approximately 30 minutes to bring the blaze under control and prevent it from spreading to neighboring structures.
Tragically, investigators discovered the bodies of two victims inside the bathroom of the primary residence. The deceased have been identified as a husband and wife, aged approximately 70 and 60 years old, respectively. Preliminary reports suggest the couple succumbed to smoke inhalation while attempting to escape the flames. The fire also caused significant destruction to several vehicles parked within the premises and the tire shop area. Authorities estimate the total property damage to be in excess of 10 million baht.
