Six Arrested in Samut Sakhon Land Fraud Scheme
Police in Samut Sakhon have apprehended six individuals accused of orchestrating a sophisticated land deed fraud, resulting in losses exceeding 15.8 million baht.
On September 4, 2026, authorities from the Samut Sakhon City Police Station, in coordination with provincial land officials, arrested six suspects at the Samut Sakhon Land Office. According to Khaosod Online, the group was caught attempting to execute a fraudulent land sale agreement with a victim they had previously targeted.
The investigation began after a 69-year-old factory owner filed a complaint on August 29, 2026. The victim reported being deceived by individuals posing as heirs and estate managers of a property adjacent to their factory. The suspects allegedly utilized forged official documents, including court orders and certificates of final judgment, to convince the victim to enter into a land sale agreement on June 24, 2026. The victim subsequently issued cashier's checks totaling over 15.8 million baht before realizing the deception.
For residents and property investors, this case highlights the critical importance of verifying land titles and legal documentation directly through official government channels rather than relying solely on documents provided by third parties. While the suspects are currently in custody, the investigation remains ongoing to determine if there are additional victims or if other accomplices were involved in the forgery of these official documents.
