Three Arrested for Theft of Top-Up Kiosks in Ban Haet
Police in Ban Haet have apprehended three individuals accused of stealing automated top-up kiosks to extract cash for personal use and drug purchases.
According to a report from Khaosod Online Thailand, police in Ban Haet have arrested three suspects involved in the theft of automated top-up kiosks. The suspects, identified as a 27-year-old, a 19-year-old, and a 16-year-old, allegedly targeted kiosks located in Non Sombun village, specifically in Moo 9 and Moo 10.
Authorities stated that the group transported the stolen kiosks using a motorcycle to a secluded location, where they broke them open to retrieve the cash inside. The suspects reportedly divided the stolen money among themselves, with some of the funds used to purchase methamphetamine for personal consumption. The investigation was initiated following reports filed between September 5 and September 7, 2026, leading to the eventual apprehension of the suspects by the Ban Haet Police Station.
For residents and visitors in the area, this incident highlights a localized security issue regarding unattended public payment infrastructure. While the suspects are now in custody, the incident serves as a reminder to remain vigilant regarding suspicious activity around public kiosks.
