The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has issued its 8th warning regarding severe weather conditions affecting Thailand. According to the report published by Khaosod Online on September 10, 2026, a strong low-pressure area in the central South China Sea is expected to intensify into a tropical cyclone between September 11 and 13.
As of September 10, heavy to very heavy rainfall is impacting the North, Northeast, Central region—including Bangkok and its vicinity—as well as the East and South. This weather pattern is driven by a cold air mass from China interacting with a monsoon trough.
For travelers and residents, this means significant disruption is likely. From September 11 to 13, the TMD forecasts increased rainfall in the South, with heavy to very heavy downpours in some areas. While rain intensity may decrease in the North and Northeast, the Central region, Bangkok, and the East will continue to experience heavy rain in some locations.
