Police Officer Detained Following Fatal Shooting in Bang Lamung
A police officer has been taken into custody after a fatal shooting involving his wife at a kindergarten in Chonburi province.
On September 10, 2026, authorities in Bang Lamung, Chonburi, processed the detention of Police Sub-Lieutenant Tassapong, known as 'Lieutenant Oh,' following a fatal shooting. According to Khaosod Online, the officer allegedly shot and killed his wife, a kindergarten teacher, at her workplace. Following the incident, the suspect barricaded himself in his home for nearly 20 hours before surrendering to police on the morning of September 10.
Police officials, including the Deputy Commander of Chonburi Provincial Police and the Superintendent of Bang Lamung Police Station, conducted an interrogation of the suspect in the presence of his family. The Superintendent of Bang Lamung Police Station stated that the motive for the incident appears to be related to jealousy.
