Missing Forager Found Deceased in Kalasin's Phu Faek Forest
A 35-year-old man who went missing while foraging in the Phu Faek forest has been found dead in a whirlpool known as Kaeng E-Thoi.
On September 10, 2026, search and rescue teams recovered the body of a 35-year-old man, identified as Anan, in the Phu Faek forest area of Kalasin province. According to Khaosod Online, the man had gone missing the previous afternoon while foraging with friends.
Rescue operations, involving local police, forest officials, and volunteer rescue units, were hampered by the rugged mountainous terrain and numerous water features. The body was discovered at approximately 8:00 a.m. in a whirlpool locally referred to as 'Kaeng E-Thoi.' Authorities suspect that the victim may have slipped and been swept into the whirlpool by flash flood currents. Due to the difficult terrain, the recovery operation took several hours, with the body successfully transported to the base of the mountain by 10:10 a.m.
